Biomes of Brazil

a Gift to be Held!

The Brazilian Biomes Program has the mission of combating climate change and its impacts, by face the challenges of ensuring the preservation of the environment and mitigate the effects of global warming associated with anthropogenic actions.

Its objective is to disseminate the ecological, genetic, social, economic, scientific, educational, cultural, recreational and aesthetic values of biodiversity, by promoting the conservation of remaining natural resources, of areas unique for their richness and natural exuberance (forests, plateaus, valleys, hyperthermal outcrops, springs, natural waterfalls and crystal-clear rivers) and/or unparalleled and fundamental importance for humanity, acting under the principle that conserving and preserving natural ecosystems and their biodiversity is to perpetuate life.

The program Biomes of Brazil will promote research and development initiatives, committed to solve humanity’s greatest challenges, with a view to strengthening resilience and adaptation capacity to climate-related risks and natural disasters; also, socio-environmental awareness and the defense, preservation and conservation of natural resources, invariably threatened by real estate speculation, fires, mineral extraction and illegal and/or predatory extractive exploitation of fauna and flora.

Aiming to guarantee the sustainability of its projects in the long term, the Program Biomes of Brazil will provide monitoring and financial support for its maintenance and development.

The program Biomes of Brazil will be implemented in preserved and/or anthropized areas, of high biological relevance and natural landscape value, located in the Brazilian biomes of Amazon Forest, Atlantic Forest, Cerrado, Pantanal, Pampa and Caatinga; the latter exclusive to Brazil.

It is intended for the creation and maintenance of conservation units of integral protection and sustainable use, in particular, environmental parks in the form of Private Natural Heritage Reserve (RPPN), which will contain improvements and structures for conservation and public visitation: botanical space, with handcrafted items and seedlings of Brazilian flora species, and an arboretum, with nurseries, orchidarium, herbarium, butterfly garden, trees, shrubs, ornamental, medicinal, edible and herbaceous plants , maintained, documented and scientifically identified; with a view to coexistence, recreation, education, research, contemplation, ecotourism and leisure for its general public.

In its magnitude, the Program Biomes of Brazil It will also promote the recovery of degraded areas, the reforestation of native forests and the implementation of scientific research structures, with emphasis on phytotherapeutic and pharmacological research, based on regional flora.
